So you think you can bake?


Calling all Cake Bakers young and old!
This is your chance to participate in the great Capitol Hill Elementary Bakeoff!

Do you like to wow people with your culinary skills?
Do you ever dream of becoming a pastry chef?
Well now is your chance! Capitol Hill Elementary is hosting its first ever Cake Bakeoff!

Bakeoff Competition Rules:

(i) You must bake an actual cake (pies and tarts will also be accepted)
(ii) Enter your cake in the appropriate category (a) Adults, or for student categories (b) Seniors –grade 6 & 7 (c) Intermediates – grade 3, 4 & 5, and (d) Juniors – grade K-2
(iii) Email confirmation of your entry to: by May 24
(iv) Your cake will be auctioned at the Multicultural Arts Festival on Wednesday, May 25
(v) The cake with the highest bid per category will Win a Prize AND will feature on the PAC website
(vi) Opening bids minimum $10 per cake
(vii) Winning bids will be announced at the end of the evening – you will receive a phone call to pick up and pay for your cake
(viii) All proceeds go to the Capitol Hill PAC

All cakes need to be brought to the school on May 25th no later than 3pm. We do not have enough room in the fridge to store cakes overnight. If your cake does not need to be refrigerated, then you can bring your cakes to the PAC room (by the gym) at 9am on Wednesday May 25th. It will be stored on the counter and brought
out before the event. Email all cake enquiries to:

No time to bake? No Problem! High quality store bought cakes will be accepted for the auction but will not be entered into the bakeoff competition.

Base for cake (suggestions):
– Use a cardboard rectangle/circle and cover your cake with tin foil
– Use a left over or store bought cake container (Do not use containers that need to be returned)

Cake Ingredients:
– Please indicate if your cake has traces of nuts on the tags
