Capitol Hill Parent Advisory Council is hosting a Playground Grand Opening Ceremony & Back to School Social

Friday September 9th

and we need your help to pull it off!
 
When: Friday September 9th, 1-7 pm (6-7pm for clean up)
 
What: Playground Addition Opening Ceremony, Donor recognition, and celebration for the school starts at 1:00pm, followed by a “Party in the Park” welcome back to school social. Bring your lawn chairs, picnic blankets, outdoor play activities and get to know your friendly Capitol Hill School community. Food truck and PAC concession stand on site. 
 
Doesn’t that sound fun? But we can’t do it without volunteer assistance! This is an important event to set the tone for the school year. We can’t do it without parent volunteers.
 
We are seeking volunteers for the following:
 
Opening Ceremony  
 
1. set up and preparation
 
Set up: 2 volunteers to help stage the treats, ready for handing out at the ceremony, assist playground committee in setting up for event etc. 
 
2. Event volunteers
 
1:00pm to 2:45pm
4-5 volunteers to help hand out ice cream treats 
4-5 volunteers to do facepainting and tattoo station. Facepainting will be limited to small options of set designs (read: easy for anyone to paint, you do not need to be artistic!) 
 
3. 2:45-6pm Carnival games, set up and some supervision:
 
5 volunteers to help set up the PAC carnival games and do some supervision to help kids get going and have fun playing during event and after school. 
 
4. Concession Stand 2:45-6:00pm: 
 
4-8 volunteers in shifts to sell snacks and drinks at the PAC Concession stand. 
 
5. Clean up crew: 6-7pm: 
 
4 parents to stay post event to put away games, tear down concession stand, tidy PAC kitchen etc.

The Multicultural Arts Event

The Multicultural Arts Event was an incredible success! The sun was out and shining, the children were engaged and excited, the parents were happy and mingling, and WE raised approximately $4500! Go Capitol Hill! Thank you to all the parents and community volunteers who dedicated their time, effort and donations to make this Event a success!

CaKe BaKe Off Competition & Auction

Capitol Hill Elementary’s first Cake Bake Off Competition was a huge success. Over 40 cakes were submitted and hundreds of dollars – about $600 – was raised for the school! Thank you to all of our inspiring and talented bakers who generously donated their time and efforts to bake a cake. We are astounded with your culinary skills!

Panago Pizza

Thank you to all parents who supported the Panago Pizza Fundraiser by purchasing pizza certificates. The fundraiser was sold out within three days and raised $400 toward future PAC initiatives. Yaaay!
